Welcome to IEEE BIT-Sindri Student Branch!!!

IEEE stands for Institute of Electrical and Electronics for Engineers. It was founded on the January 1st, 1963 by the merger of two big Institute of America namely American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE) and Institute of Radio Engineers (IRE) that included most of the prominent inventors and innovators in the field of electrical engineering.

The Department of Electrical Engineering at the institute stamped and registered the IEEE BIT-Sindri Student Branch under IEEE Kolkata Section on 22nd January, 2024 at 11:41:35 AM GMT with branch code STB60218746.

IEEE BIT-Sindri Student Branch aims to motivate young professionals to get involved in creative thoughts and innovative ideas. The branch growth depends on the joining of new members and organising as well as actively participating in the technical activities. An annual plan of the activities to be organised throughout the year is authored. This boosts the members to work their potential to stay up to the mark and excel above and beyond.

The Student Branch will organise different activities weekly under two categories (i) Technical events and (ii) Non-Technical events. Interested students/researchers and any individuals from inside or outside the campus can join the programs free of cost to enhance their technical as well as non-technical skills.

The list of activities under the two mentioned categories include:

• Technical Events

1. Distinguished lectures – Delivered by eminent speakers around the globe from IEEE and other institutions which would spread an essence of knowledge among interested individuals.
2. Workshops – A hands on the practice session of the technical education. With practical all the knowledge can be retained better. 
3. Seminars and Webinars– These can attract new students in the field and provide an abstract of the recent developments and new technologies which plays a role i9n shaping the future.
4. Faculty development Program – Teaching is an art and it can be mastered only by practice and good training. We provide a world class counselling to faculties so that they can motivate young students to work in their field.  
5. Short Technical and Non-Technical Courses– These will be 15-30 days course by which one can get a beginner and expert certificate in the field. The certificate will be issued by IEEE which can be proved beneficial for jobs.
6. Professor-Student one on one Interactive lessons.

• Non-Technical Events

1. Rangoli Competition – A non-technical competition where new innovative designs are encouraged. The winners are awarded so that they can maintain the focus in the field. 
2. Yoga training– Physical fitness is a must and what could be better than spreading fitness awareness among students. 
3. Meditation classes– A stress free life is important for everyone and it can easily be initiated at the tender age of college students. This program aims to provide guidance to the students to tackle stresses in the field of research and manage a healthy mind to give their best to science.
4. Photography Lessons– The art which is filled with technique. All the essential parameters to cover while capturing a moment for future memories require skill and assistance from the professionals. Our Student branch provides you just the same.
